So, we are big time shoppers and customers of Plant in Inglewood. We shop there, we tell our friends to shop there, we love everything Kyle brings in to the shop, we love the smell in there, we want to live in there. We also subscribe to the newsletter. Imagine our excitement when we opened the latest issue of the Forager and saw Kyle was accepting applications for pop up shops in his store! We went mental. And applied. Obviously.
We were accepted and had a glorious day working our table inside his store. There was a culinary race that day and the store was exceptionally busy. If you haven't been in the store, we feel sorry for you, because you are MAJORLY missing out, but also, we feel excited for you that you get to experience it new, for the first time, and we wish that was us.
The store is primarily a plant store, but also sells all sorts of planters, terrarium supplies, plant stands, and home goods. Lets talk about that. Need a candle that has a moss scent? Its there. Need a handmade leather or denim apron? Its there. Need a hanging geometric air plant holder? Its there. Need hand dipped, pastel coloured, rubberized wooden spoons, or hand screened tea towels, or the most amazing curated selection of vintage goods? Its there. No joke. Go. Why are you still reading this?
The pictures here do not do the store justice. You need to go and smell and hang out in there. Especially if you are a city dweller with no green space, this will be your cure. And try to leave without taking something home. We double dog dare you.
Speaking of double dogs, THERE ARE TWO SHOP DOGS WHO HANG OUT! Clyde and Lake are the insta famous Plant dogs. Clyde tends not to leave the shop so much, mostly hangs out by the open front garage door style entrance. Lake, well Lake enjoys casual strolls down the sidewalk.
Overall, we had a great day and loved being in that shop for the day. We highly recommend all you other makers in the Calgary area send an email requesting an application. We can pretty much guarantee you will have just a good a day as us, if not better.
Thank you for having us and it was pleasure to meet the rest of the Plant family! See you again soon!
